In chinese this little cherub says he is "going far away". I got these cards at an art show while we were in the process of filling out your paperwork. Of course I had to get them!!

Sweet Chloe (Lilang) while daddy and Caleb are sleeping, Mommy is updating info about you. We're excited to share the adventure of your adoption with our friends and family who are are looking forward to meeting you too!

I pray that you have a great day oohing and ahhhing at your surroundings. I am glad you are bonding with your caretakers. I pray God continue to prepare your heart for our family. I know it will be hard to leave -- but some day we will visit the place that was graced with your presence the first eight months of your life.

Guandong Province

It's a girl!!!

We are proud to announce that The Huffman family will soon hold Lilang Qui in our arms! Her official birthday is Dec. 20th 2004. She arrived at the Yangxi Social Welfare Institute located in Guandong province on Dec. 21, 2004. She weighs 14 lbs (6.3 kg) and is 24.2 inches (61.5 cm) . She is in excellent health and seems to be developing well according to the report we got over the phone today.

Other comments they said about Lilang:
She knows her name -- isn't Lilang a pretty name?
She's active and restless
She likes music (just like her brother Caleb) & toys
She doesn't have any teeth yet
She's a deep sleeper (PHEW!! Let's hope it stays that way)
She can hold her head up
She can pick up toys and pass them from hand to hand
(LOL) Laughs out loud ; )
She smiles a lot
She recognizes faces
& she's close to her caretaker -- we've been praying for her to bond well with someone at the orphanage!)

I'm so elated I will probably not sleep tonight -- will see her beautiful face tomorrow ---yahoooooooooooooooo!

Sweet angel of ours, we think of you all the time. Today we set up your crib and are making our list of tasks to complete before you come! We hope to get a glimpse of your angelic face this week. We pray you will know how far, deep, high, and wide God's love is for you.

We're going to China!!

Chloe! Our prayers have been answered and my intuition did not fail me. We're going to China end of August beginning of September! USAsian Affairs called us today at 5:25 pm while we were driving to Abuelita's house in Napa. My phone was on low when I got the call so I was not sure it was USAA until I called back on daddy's phone. When they told us we were extatic and of course I cried.

Just earlier today I was listening to the radio and the Tom Petty song came on (not that I am a Tom Petty fan..but his lyrics seem to express what I have been feeling lately) called "I Need to Know" It goes like this:

I felt like calling USAA at that moment to see if we were letting ourselves be led on by the e-rumor mill. I just needed to know. And now we do.

We'll be looking forward to finding out more about you in the next two weeks!

No News...

I've gotta say, we are still HOPING to be able to see you soon! No news most certainly is NOT good news. While we're waiting to know if we will be travelling with the next group, know you are being held up in prayer. Our hearts are more than prepared for you to come home. Today I was tickling your brother before he went to bed and your dad was reading him stories. We were thinking once again how we wished you could be with us now. I pray that the angels themselves give you lots of hugs, comfort and someone to tickle you for us. Good night sweet pea!

Rumors, rumors and more rumors.....

Chloe dear, I just can't stand it! I gotta know what's really happening. When will we travel to see you? When will we get a glimpse of your beautiful face? There are rumors, ponderings and wishful e-mails that tell us we have a good chance of getting combined with Group 105 who just got First Call today. I only hope it's true.

Little one we pray that God graciously holds you in the palm of His Almighty Hand, loving you & protecting you. I pray that he whispers in your little ear that he has hand-picked our family just for you. Though we continue to wait, I we rest in the fact that His timing is perfect and that His ways are always best.
